1. Zero Data Collection & Local Processing

Marmot ID Photo is designed with privacy at its core. We are committed to protecting your personal information. Our primary policy is simple: we do not collect, store, or share your photos or personal data.

• LocalNo Server Uploads: All image processing — including background removal, outfit replacement, and beauty filters — is performed entirely on your device using Apple's native Vision and Core Image frameworks. We operate no servers that receive your photos.
• No AccountNo Personal Identifiers: We do not require registration and do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personal identifiers.

2. Facial Data & Recognition

To provide ID photo features, the app uses on-device facial detection technology.

• Data Detected: The app detects facial landmarks (such as eye and mouth positions) and the face bounding box in the photo you provide.
• Purpose: This data is used solely for automatic cropping, centering the subject according to official ID specifications, and generating precise background removal masks.
• Third-Party Sharing: We DO NOT share any facial data or images with third parties.
• Storage & Retention: Facial coordinates are processed in the device's volatile memory (RAM) and are discarded immediately after the editing session is closed. No facial data is ever saved to persistent storage or synced to any cloud service.

3. Permissions

The app requests the following permissions only when necessary:

• Camera — to take a new photo for your ID.
• Photo Library — to import an existing photo or save your generated ID photo to your album.
• App Tracking Transparency (ATT) — OPTIONAL. Used only for ad measurement via AdMob (see §5). Declining has no impact on any app feature.

You can manage or revoke these permissions any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Marmot ID Photo.

4. Third-Party AI Services

We DO NOT use any third-party cloud AI services. All AI-driven features (person segmentation, facial landmarks, matting) are powered by Apple's on-device technologies (Vision and CoreML), ensuring your data remains private and local.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app displays a single rewarded-interstitial advertisement when you save a photo. This helps fund development. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect limited data:

• Device information (model, iOS version, screen size) for ad rendering.
• Approximate location (country-level) for ad targeting.
• IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers) — only if you grant App Tracking Transparency permission. If you decline, non-personalised ads are served instead.

For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google's Consent Management Platform (UMP) presents a choice screen on first launch. You can change your consent any time via App menu → Privacy Choices.

6. Data Retention Policy

Since no photo or facial data is ever uploaded to our servers, we retain none of it. Preference data such as language selection, appearance, and export quality is stored locally on your device and is deleted when the app is uninstalled.

7. Children's Privacy

Our app does not collect any personal data and is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us immediately.

8. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA / LGPD)

Because we collect no personal data, the rights of access, rectification, deletion, and portability are automatically satisfied. If you wish to verify this, email us using the contact below — we will respond within 30 days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or regulatory requirements. Updates will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
